Has A Place

This really doesn't have anything to do with decorating butttt... I wanted to share it anyway, for Mothers Day I bought my mom flying lessons. She said she has always wanted to do it and would love to try it out. I thought to myself no way, plane is to tiny and I would be scared out of my mind. She still wanted to do it. :) So I said good for you. So a few weekends ago she did it, it was great. They really let you do everything, its crazy! I was actually quite surprised and have a new found respect for pilots. Also, you have to have alot of strength, which was surprising. Also you steer the plane with your feet not your hands. The handle looking thing is for up and down, not side to side. Weird right. That was kind of hard for her to get used to. so when she wanted to turn she had to use her feet, to take off and land was both feet and hands. Well hello there, been a while. Summer really takes a toll on my life. I never realized how much time I actually spend outside and out at different festivals and parties.
We live in an area where we get about 3 good months of "good" weather. So ALL of the weddings, showers, barbecues, happen during this short time. It seems every weekend we are at another "thing". I don't mind at all, I love socializing and being with friends. But it doesn't leave much time for anything else. As you can see this bathroom project took forever and a day to finish. I couldn't be happier with the end result. It has transformed and is truly a masterpiece. blah blah blah... just kidding it came out great!

In this room we changed out the floor (my beautiful tile job if i do say so myself!), light, toilet, mirror and vanity.  Its hard to believe where it was before I got my hands on it. It was a LONG time coming.

So.. I haven't written in a while and I feel really bad. Projects have slowed down a bit because of the summer. Which means I am out and about and doing a millllllion things.
My husband and I just celebrated our second wedding anniversary yesterday!  We were in the big apple for the weekend. I love that city, it makes me feel so warm and fuzzy.... actually no :) i fell like a madwomen when I'm there. Like I can take on a bull coming at me full charge. It gives you energy. Anyways.. we had a great time.

What a beautiful sight, so peaceful, so calm. You would never know by looking at this picture of what lies BENEATH this gorgeous deck ;)



So now that everything seems to be coming together inside and  the front of the house its time to start tackling the back of the house. I was at home depot the other day and noticed this really cool edging. Because I hate to dig (anything) I saw pound in and I was like yeaaaaa, this could work for back there. We have a high deck on the back of our house. It's like 20x20 and like 10 feet off the ground. My backyard slopes a bit. Its ok except the view underneath is less than pretty :)

It needs some heeeeeeeeeeeeeeelllllppp. For sure.
First I laid out some of the black landscape fabric, because there was no WAYYYY i was going to dig out the grass. This stuff will kill it off in days. Then I laid the edging over the top of it and pounded it in.
So here's the edging, it comes in 20 foot lengths. You basically just lay it out, you should use someone else because it is hard to keep in a line. I just pounded on end in and then worked towards the other end.


Actually, it doesn't look that much better :( I still have alot of work to do! Until then I'll be spending most of my time above this ugly scenery :)
