Updated Master Bedroom!!

Well hey there, how are you all, I'm just great.  I'm on this new organization kick, stay tuned for that, so I have a daily agenda I go through and this project has bee #1 on my feature in blog list everyday for I don't even know how long.

So I decided to change up my master bedroom for spring/summer. I always seem to change it around a bit with the seasons or anytime I find something interesting! Pretty much everything except for the big stuff like bed, dresser, rug and curtains.  I really really like it. Its nice and light for a refreshing spring summer update.

Here's the before, not to shabby I might add:

Now, this next pic outlines for my readers that think it takes a lot of effort to update a room. It doesn't matter what the before looks like, if you update these next five things you can dramatically update a room.

See, it doesn't take a lot to make a big impact.

Here's the update:

Let me know which one you like better!!!

New chair, nightstands and bench

Hello! Hello! Hope you are having a great week. The family room accessory update is complete (for now)!! I remembered I had some small accessory updates in the master bedroom. When I showed you the spare bedroom redo here I told you that I took the chair from the master bedroom. Well that left me with a gaping hole in the wall. I was used to sitting in it and watching TV or putting my socks on and my husband was used to throwing his dirty clothes on it :)  So I had to find a new one, I didn't want to spend a lot of money and I knew it had to be comfortable. So I went to my local furniture store, thinking I was going to pick up a clearance or "last one" type of deal. But as I was walking around I saw this cute little chair that would be perfect. I was so excited, and it was only $150. I thought that was a good deal for an armchair.
Of course this caused a spiraling of changes. The chair is cream, but almost gray undertones. So of course the rugs didn't work anymore, and I took the bench/ (whatever it is) and put it at the foot of the spare bed. So I wanted a bench as well. I picked one up and Kirkland’s for around 40 bucks. It is zebra, which I’m not a fan of, but for 40 bucks I can recover it. So after that, I also took my old nightstands and put them in the spare bedroom. They look much better in there. better height for the bed, good fit all around. As I was browsing for the chair I stumbled across some end tables with drawers. They already matched my dresser and armorie so I had to get them.  I’m all about saving a buck but "eclectic" mismatched bedroom furniture is not my style. I think things look neater and more sophisticated when the furniture is all of the same collection.

Before: Which is after the "mini" update, you can read about that here

yea these pics are with an iphone, sorry :)

After:

Much better with my new Nikon :) :)

I now think the zebra bench adds a little spice to the room. It works much better with the new rugs. I did get new ones to match for the attached master bath:

Mini Bedroom Update...

Here you go, Notice the changes we subtle but great. I'm learning how to take better pictures as well.
All that was changed in this room was the bedding (most) the two accent pillows and the euro pillows are the same.  The lamp shades and the lamps on the dressers. I think it brightens it up and changes it up for the summer months ahead. I loved the other comforter, but frankly it needs to be cleaned (dry-cleaned) and I am about to start the spare bedroom makeover so I needed something for in there also!

Mini Bedroom Makeover

It doesn't take much to dress up, update and transform a room. I'm an avid decorator, I love it its my passion. But even I have trouble with what I do sometimes. I LOVE my master bedroom. I think it is tranquil and serene. I just relax when I look at a picture of it. Its really the only room in the house that it happens! And it should right?  The master is supposed to be a place that you WANT to spend 1/3rd of your life. I want my mornings to be relaxing and pleasant, not chaotic and unpleasant (who does?)  So, make it your space, the space you retire to and enjoy spending your time. Now I don't have kids BUT even when I do this will still be MY space, not theirs!  I don't want to be one of those parents that says your
NOT ALLOWED IN THERE, i think that's stupid!  I just want it still to reflect my personality and my taste.

ANYWAY! Back to the point, I am an AVID decorator, but even I have trouble seeing the faults in my projects. I.E....
the unpainted window sills, the messy bed/pillows.
Pictures coming soon!
